Mind Tools helps you recognize and interrupt negative thought patterns using evidence-based techniques from therapy. Think of it as a gentle guide that helps you step back, examine your thoughts, and find more balanced perspectives.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By changing unhelpful thought patterns, we can improve how we feel and act.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) adds skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. It teaches us to accept our experiences while still working toward change.

Key principles:

  • Thoughts aren't facts โ€” Just because you think something doesn't make it true
  • Feelings are temporary โ€” Intense emotions pass if we don't feed them
  • Small steps matter โ€” Progress, not perfection

Create a "break glass in case of emergency" tool using an NFC tag. When you notice you don't feel right in your mind or body, just tap your totem to your phone to launch Mind Tools instantlyโ€”no unlocking, no searching, no distractions.

Anything can be a totem: a card in your wallet, a pendant or charm, a coin, a keychain, your watch strap, or even your pet's collar.

How to set it up
  1. Get an NFC tag or sticker (cheap online)
  2. Use an NFC writer app to program it with this URL
  3. Attach it to your chosen object
  4. Tap to access help when you need it most

All your data stays on your device. Your conversations, coping strategies, mantras, and settings are stored locally in your browser's storage.

Nothing is sent to any server except your chat messages to the AI (via OpenRouter) when you use the Chat feature. We don't track, collect, or store any of your personal information.

I made this little app because existing tools haven't been very effective at helping me cope with depression.
